Empowering Local Communities in Daresalam, North Darfur: A COVID-19 Response

Sahari Organization, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is actively addressing the challenges posed by COVID-19 in Daresalam, North Darfur. Their strategic approach involves training local women and facilitating the production of essential hygiene supplies at the grassroots level.

Here are the key highlights of their efforts:

1. Training Local Women: Sahari has trained 20 women in the production of liquid soap and hand sanitizers. These skills empower women to create essential hygiene products that are crucial for preventing the spread of the virus.

2. Face Mask Production: Additionally, 10 women have received training in face mask making. Face masks play a vital role in protecting individuals and communities, especially during the pandemic.

3. Local Production Results:
* 1300 Face Masks: The community has produced 1300 face masks, contributing to public health and safety.
* 1300 Units of Liquid Soap: The locally made liquid soap enhances hand hygiene practices.
* 400 Units of Sanitizer: Sanitizers are essential for maintaining cleanliness and preventing infection.
